State of Florida Offers Free Classes on Workers’ Comp
The state of Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation partners with the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the University of South Florida’s Safety Florida Consultation Program to offer business owners and employers FREE seminars and webinars on the requirements of Florida’s workers’ compensation laws and workplace safety.
The topics covered include:
- Key definitions
- Who is required to have workers’ comp insurance
- Who is eligible for exemptions from workers’ comp
- Contractor responsibilities under workers’ comp
- State enforcement of the workers’ comp laws
- OSHA/Workplace Safety
The free classes are offered as either an in-person seminar held in various locations around the state, OR as a webinar that contains the same information as the classroom settings, but are held monthly via your computer and telephone.
Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) are available for license holders from the Department of Business & Professional Regulation Construction Industry Licensing Board and the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board.
